Can I download to a different folder on a Mac?

How we test

The Mac steps

Click the pin so it opens on its own URL, press Cmd+C to copy the address, paste it above and press Download. Choose an option under the preview and the file is in Downloads, reachable from Finder or the Dock. It works identically on an iMac, MacBook Air or MacBook Pro.

Safari and Chrome both fine

Either browser handles the download. If Safari asks before saving, allow the download for this site once. Chrome saves without asking; Cmd+Shift+J opens its download list from any tab.

No Mac app, no dmg

Pinterest has no official Mac downloader and third-party dmg files are an install you have to trust and keep updated. A browser page sidesteps both. The same reasoning applies to Safari extensions that want access to every tab.

Which browser to use on macOS

Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox all work. Safari asks before the first download from a new site; allow it once and the prompt stops. Chrome and Edge save without asking and open Downloads with a shortcut. Whichever you pick, the file is the same stored copy.
