How we testSave the file, not the bookmark
Pinterest's own save puts a pin on a board inside Pinterest. If the pin is deleted, so is your copy. A saver here puts the actual media on your disk, which is what keeps it through a takedown or an account going quiet.
All three media types
Videos save as MP4 with audio, images as their stored JPG or PNG, animated pins as GIF or MP4. You do not choose a mode first; the tool reports what the pin contains and offers that.
Private pins are the one limit
Only what a logged-out visitor can see is reachable. Secret boards, private accounts, deleted pins and age-gated posts will not resolve. Everything public resolves.
What a saver cannot rescue
It cannot see behind a login, and it cannot reach a pin that is already gone. If a creator deleted the pin before you saved it, no tool has a copy. It also cannot improve the file: a saver relays the stored copy, so a pin uploaded at 720p stays 720p.
