How we testSaving to a phone, done right
On Android the file drops into Downloads and appears in Gallery. On iPhone it goes to Files › Downloads; open it, tap Share, choose Save Video and it is in Photos. Long-press the preview and pick Download if your browser plays instead of saving.
Why offline copies matter
Creators delete pins, boards go private and accounts close. A saved MP4 survives all of that. It is also the difference between a smooth reference when travelling or on a weak connection and a spinner.
What the file contains
One MP4 with picture and sound, exactly as Pinterest stored it. No added logo, no text, no second encode. The quality ceiling is the upload resolution; most pins are 720p and some reach 1080p.
Saving your own pin
Your own upload sometimes sits on a board you later make private, which makes it unreachable to a logged-out fetch. If that happens, make the pin public for a minute, save it here, and switch it back. The file is the same one Pinterest holds; nothing about the visibility change survives in the media.
